Lea Black Skin Care Line
If you think the Real Housewives of Miami look fabulous, you must know there's a reason behind it. Lea Black's secret was revealed in the 80's when she developed her own skincare product called Sudden Youth Facial. She's no stranger to the skincare game as she's had a solid hand in the beauty industry for over 20 years and has developed 400 products, including the launch of Lea Black Beauty. But her latest endeavor is the launch of her "tell-all" fictional book Red Carpets & White Lies .
We sat down with Lea as she got real with us about what inspired her to come up with her own skincare line, how she maintains that gorgeous skin of hers and the ins and outs of her new book.
When you started your own skincare line, Sudden Youth, what was your main inspiration to want to create your own, unique line?
I wanted to create my own line of skincare because I had a great concept - a product I had put together with some great chemists and labs. It was a combination of products I had seen great results from and a concoction of egg whites and aloe vera that my grandmother used to mix up and use regularly. She had amazing skin even when she was close to 100 years old. So I developed Sudden Youth, a natural product that provides immediate results, and I have the clinical studies that prove the results we have seen in women worldwide. Can you describe your own skincare regime?
My daily skincare regime is quick simple and affordable. In the morning I wash my face with Lea Black Pearlized Facial Wash. I follow it with the LB Serum and Daily Moisturizer . In the evening, I wash my face again but much more thoroughly, and follow with the serum and a nighttime moisture cream. Our moisturizers increase the moisture in the skin 440 percent in two days and 500 percent after a week. This regime takes about two minutes in the morning and three minutes at night every day.
Then, twice a week I use the Sudden Youth Facial Mask . It takes about 20 minutes to dry. It lifts, tones, firms and tightens the skin, sloughs off dead cells and helps to reduce the pore size. And once or twice a week, I spend a couple of minutes exfoliating my hands, face, throat and neck area with the LB Exfoliant . How do you define beauty?
I define beauty as feeling and looking your best. Peace of mind on the inside will radiate on the outside. Maintenance is the key.
What are some of your favorite makeup products that keep you looking so fabulous?
My favorite beauty products are basic. I love the Bare Escentuals face powder . Beauty for Real blush and highlighter . The Elaine Lancaster Cosmetics lip lacquer. Instant Tan Lea Black body mousse. These cosmetic products simply add a sparkle that is so natural yet so radiant.
